First select a country — Area and Plot Size units will change for that country.
Leave both boxes blank if you do not want a custom unit. When both are filled, your unit appears in the From and To lists above.
Plot Size — Length x Width
First select Marla Standard above — Plot Type stays locked until then.
Selected standard: 1 marla = 272.25 sq ft, 1 kanal = 5445 sq ft. Acre always remains the standard 43,560 sq ft.
Irregular Plot
A plot with 4 different sides cannot be measured from its 4 sides alone — its area also depends on its shape. Measure one diagonal as well, and the plot will be split into 2 triangles.
Diagonal means the straight line inside the plot joining two opposite corners: Triangle 1 uses Side 1, Side 2 and the Diagonal; Triangle 2 uses Side 3, Side 4 and the Diagonal.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a unit converter, and how does this one work?
A unit converter changes a value from one unit to another — for example, inches to centimeters, or kilograms to pounds. On this site you type an amount, choose a From unit and a To unit, and the result appears at once. Under every result you also see the formula, so you can check how the value was calculated.
Is this converter free? Do I need an account or sign-up?
Yes, it is free, and no account or sign-up is needed. There is no download and no payment step. Just open the page and start converting.
How do I use a converter on this site?
First, choose a category from the tabs, the sidebar, or the Converters menu — for example Length, Area, or Weight. Then type your amount, pick the From unit and the To unit, and read the result in the dark result box. If you want the opposite direction, use the Swap Units button instead of retyping everything.
Do I need to press a button to get a result?
No. Results update automatically as you type, and the plot-size result updates automatically when length or width changes. There is no Calculate button to press for ordinary conversions.
Are the results accurate? Why does a result show only a few decimals?
Results are calculated from standard conversion factors and are suitable for everyday, school, property, cooking, and study use. For very precise scientific or legal work, always confirm the factor used in your own field. By default results are rounded to 4 decimal places; you can change this in Settings in the sidebar to 2, 6, or 8 decimal places.
What is 1 marla in square feet? What about kanal and acre?
Under the Standard setting, 1 marla = 272.25 square feet, 1 kanal = 20 marla = 5,445 square feet, and 1 acre = 8 kanal = 43,560 square feet. First select a Marla Standard — Standard or Custom — because until you select one, the Area Amount box stays locked and Area and Plot results stay empty. If you choose Custom in the Area panel or in the Plot Size section, you can write your own square feet per marla yourself, and kanal and plot size will update from that value. While Custom is selected, the Amount box stays locked until you enter your own Custom Marla value first.
How does the plot size calculator work?
In the Area panel, first select a country (at the top of the Area panel, or in the Plot Size section itself), then select Plot Type — Regular or Irregular. Until you select a country, Plot Type stays locked; until you select a type, the plot fields stay locked and no plot result is shown. For Pakistan and India, you must also select a Marla Standard first, and the Plot Type box glows until you select a type. For a Regular plot, enter the plot length and width in feet. The calculator works out the area in square feet at once, and then shows it in that country's units — for Pakistan and India as sq ft = marla (whole marla + remaining sirsai, e.g. 1200 sq ft = 4.41 marla (4 marla 3.67 sirsai)), for the USA, UK and Bangladesh as sq ft = acre, and for Canada as sq ft = square meters and acres. No button is needed.
How do I measure a plot with 3 sides, or 4 different sides?
In the Plot Size section, choose Plot Type > Irregular Plot, then choose 3 Sides or 4 Different Sides. For a triangle plot, enter its 3 sides in feet — the area is worked out from those 3 sides alone. For a plot with 4 different sides, the 4 sides alone are not enough, because the same 4 sides can make different shapes with different areas. Measure one diagonal as well — the straight line inside the plot joining two opposite corners — and the plot is split into 2 triangles, whose areas are added together. Both results are shown as sq ft = marla (whole marla + remaining sirsai), using the marla standard you have selected.
What are tola, seer, and maund in the Weight converter?
These are traditional South Asian weight units. As used on this site, 1 tola is about 0.01166 kilograms, 1 seer is about 0.933 kilograms, and 1 maund is 40 seer, about 37.324 kilograms. Exact values can vary slightly by region and market, so treat them as standard working values.
Why is temperature conversion different from other conversions?
Most conversions are a simple multiplication, but temperature scales start at different points. For example, 0 degrees Celsius is 32 degrees Fahrenheit, not 0, so the converter first converts your value to Celsius and then to the unit you chose. That is why Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Rankine, and Reaumur all work correctly here, even though their zero points are different.
Why is 1 KB shown as 1024 bytes here, not 1000?
Computers work in binary, so this site uses the common computing rule that 1 kilobyte = 1024 bytes, 1 megabyte = 1024 kilobytes, and so on. Some storage makers use 1000 instead for labelling, which is why a disk or card can look slightly smaller on a computer than on its box. If you need the decimal (1000-based) size, divide the binary result accordingly.
How do cooking conversions work? What is 1 cup in milliliters?
Cooking units are volume units. On this site, 1 cup = 236.588 milliliters, 1 tablespoon = 14.787 milliliters, and 1 teaspoon = 4.929 milliliters. For dry ingredients the weight can differ by ingredient, so use these volume conversions for liquids and standard measuring cups and spoons.
How does fuel consumption conversion work?
Distance-per-volume units, like kilometers per liter and miles per gallon, convert directly. Liters per 100 kilometers is the opposite kind of unit — the smaller the number, the better the mileage — so the converter turns it into kilometers per liter first and then converts it to the unit you chose. That is why 15 kilometers per liter is about 35.28 miles per gallon (US).
What is the difference between the Basic and Scientific calculators?
The Basic calculator handles everyday maths: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage. The Scientific calculator adds trigonometry, logarithms, square roots, powers, pi, and brackets. Trigonometry here uses degrees, like a standard school scientific calculator — so sin(30) gives 0.5.
Does this site work on a mobile phone? Is my data sent anywhere?
Yes, the site is made to work on phones, tablets, and computers, and the sidebar becomes a top bar on small screens. Your amounts are calculated in your own browser and are not sent to a server for conversion, and nothing you type is saved as an account.
What should I do if the result box is empty or shows an error?
First, check that you have typed an amount and that both From and To units are selected — the box starts empty on purpose and only fills after you type. If a calculation is not possible, such as dividing by zero, clear the amount with C and try again. If a unit you need is missing, tell us the unit name and we can consider adding it.
What are the metric and imperial systems, and which one should I use?
The metric system uses meters, grams, and liters, and is based on powers of 10, which makes it easy to scale up and down. The imperial system uses inches, feet, pounds, and gallons, and is still common in everyday life in the United States and in some older property and cooking measures elsewhere. Use metric for school, science, and most international work, and imperial when a recipe, property document, or local practice already uses it — this converter lets you switch between them in one step.
What is a base unit, and why do converters use it?
A base unit is the single unit a converter uses as its middle step. For example, for length the base is the meter: inches are first turned into meters, and then meters are turned into the unit you chose. This keeps every pair of units consistent, because only one factor is needed for each unit, instead of a separate factor for every possible pair.
What are the most common length conversions?
Here are the ones people use most: 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters, 1 foot = 30.48 centimeters, 1 yard = 0.9144 meters, 1 mile = 1.609 kilometers, 1 kilometer = 0.621 miles, 1 meter = 3.281 feet, and 1 centimeter = 0.394 inches. You can try any of these by typing the first value and choosing the two units.
What are the most common weight conversions?
Here are the ones people use most: 1 kilogram = 2.205 pounds, 1 pound = 0.454 kilograms, 1 ounce = 28.35 grams, 1 gram = 0.035 ounces, 1 metric ton = 1000 kilograms, and 1 stone = 6.35 kilograms. For traditional weights, see the tola, seer, and maund answer above.
What are common temperature examples in Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin?
Water freezes at 0 degrees Celsius, 32 degrees Fahrenheit, and 273.15 Kelvin. Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius, 212 degrees Fahrenheit, and 373.15 Kelvin. A comfortable room is about 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, or 68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Normal body temperature is about 37 degrees Celsius, or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
How do I convert in the opposite direction?
Use the Swap Units button in the converter panel. It exchanges the From and To units and recalculates at once, so you do not need to retype the amount or remember the reverse factor. You can also simply choose the units in the opposite order in the two dropdowns.
What is the difference between a US gallon and a UK gallon?
They are not the same size. A US gallon is 3.785 liters, while a UK (Imperial) gallon is 4.546 liters. The same applies to pints and fluid ounces: a US pint is 0.473 liters and a UK pint is 0.568 liters. Always check which gallon a recipe or fuel figure means, and choose US or UK in the Volume dropdown accordingly.
What is the difference between a ton, a tonne, a short ton, and a long ton?
A metric ton, also called a tonne, is 1000 kilograms. A short ton, used in the United States, is 907.185 kilograms. A long ton, used in the United Kingdom, is 1016.047 kilograms. They sound alike but differ by almost 10 percent, so always check which ton a document means before converting.
Can I use these results for school homework, exams, or official property work?
Yes for homework, practice, and everyday property estimates, and the formula under each result helps you show your working. For official land records, court, or engineering work, confirm the result with the official factor and unit used in that document, especially for marla, because local marla sizes can differ.
Will this site work on a slow connection or an old phone?
Yes. The page is a single file with no heavy downloads, and all calculations happen in your browser, so once the page has loaded it works even if your connection is slow. It also works on small screens, where the sidebar moves above the converter.
What do the scientific calculator buttons mean?
Sin, cos, and tan are trigonometry functions, used with angles in degrees here. Log means logarithm base 10, while ln means natural logarithm base e. The square root button finds the number that, multiplied by itself, gives your value. X to the power Y raises a number to a power, X squared multiplies a number by itself, X! is factorial (for example 5! = 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 = 120), pi is about 3.14159, and e is about 2.71828.
When should I use degrees and when should I use radians for angles?
Use degrees for everyday angles, school geometry, and maps — a full circle is 360 degrees. Use radians for higher mathematics, physics, and engineering formulas, where a full circle is about 6.283 radians. This converter lets you switch between degrees, radians, grads, minutes, seconds, and revolutions.
What does kilowatt-hour mean on an electricity bill?
A kilowatt-hour is energy, not power. Power in kilowatts tells you how fast energy is used, and energy in kilowatt-hours tells you how much was used in total. Running a 1-kilowatt heater for 1 hour uses 1 kilowatt-hour. Running it for 10 hours uses 10 kilowatt-hours. That is why bills charge per kilowatt-hour.
What do psi, bar, and atmosphere mean for pressure?
Psi means pounds per square inch and is common for tyre pressure — a car tyre is often around 30 to 35 psi. Bar is a metric pressure unit, where 1 bar is about 14.5 psi. One standard atmosphere is the average air pressure at sea level, about 101,325 pascals, 1.013 bar, or 14.7 psi. This converter covers all three, plus torr and millibar for weather and laboratory use.
What is the difference between MB and Mb, and between a bit and a byte?
A bit is the smallest unit of digital data, and a byte is 8 bits. Internet speeds are usually given in megabits per second (Mb/s), while file sizes and downloads are usually given in megabytes (MB). That is why a 100 Mb/s connection downloads at about 12.5 MB per second in theory — divide by 8 to go from bits to bytes.
How can I report a wrong conversion or ask for a missing unit?
Note the category, the From and To units, the amount you typed, and the result you expected, and send those four details to us. With those details we can check the factor, fix it if needed, and add a missing unit in a future update.
How do I add my own custom area unit?
In the Area panel, below the result box, write your unit name in the Custom Unit Name box and write how many square feet make 1 of that unit in the next box — for example, Biswa and 1361.25. Your unit will then appear in the From and To lists, and you can convert it to and from any other area unit. It works for the Area converter only; Plot Size still uses the selected country's units. Clear both boxes to remove the custom unit.
Are the currency rates live? Can I rely on them for payments?
Currency rates change every day. This site loads the latest free exchange rate when you are online, and otherwise uses the rates saved on the page, last updated on 7 November 2026 (1 US dollar = 276.4566 Pakistani rupees). Treat every currency result as indicative — for a payment or a bank transfer, always check the rate your bank or money service gives you at that moment.
How does the Age Calculator work?
Enter your Date of Birth. The Age On Date is filled with today automatically, and you can change it manually to any date if you want the age on that date (if you clear it, it again uses today). Type your Date of Birth and Age On date in the format selected above — only MM/DD/YYYY and DD/MM/YYYY. There is no calendar picker, so the format you select is the format you type in, and changing the format also converts the dates you already typed. The Next button beside the format box moves to the other format each time you tap it. It works out your exact calendar age in years, months and days — for example, born 15 January 2000, on 1 November 2026 you are 26 years, 9 months and 17 days old — plus your total months, weeks, days and hours.
How does the Age Converter work?
Enter an age and choose From and To units — Years, Months, Weeks, Days, Hours or Minutes. It uses average values: 1 year = 365.25 days (allowing for leap years) and 1 month = 30.4375 days, so 25 years = 300 months = 9,131.25 days. For an exact calendar age for a specific person, use the Age Calculator, not the converter.
How do the Geometry Calculators work?
Open Geometry Calculators from the sidebar, the Home page, or the Home menu. Choose a tool — Triangle, Volume, Slope, Area, Distance, Circle, Surface Area, Pythagorean Theorem, or Right Triangle — enter the values you know, and the result updates automatically. No button is needed, and the result box starts empty until you type.
How do I find a missing side with the Pythagorean Theorem?
For a right triangle, a² + b² = c², where c is the longest side. Enter any two sides and leave the third blank. For example, a = 3 and b = 4 gives c = 5. If you enter a and c, the calculator finds b from c² − a², and it shows an error if c is not the longest side.
What is the difference between Volume and Surface Area?
Volume is how much space a 3D shape holds, in cubic units — for example, a sphere of radius 3 has a volume of about 113.10 cubic units. Surface area is how much area covers the outside of the shape, in square units — the same sphere has a surface area of about 113.10 square units only by coincidence at radius 3, because the formulas are different: volume uses radius cubed, surface area uses radius squared.
